I think using tools like ChatGPT for drafting is, frankly, the most boring part of AI, which is why I don’t use it for that purpose.
Yes, this is a sneaky way of saying I use AI, but as an extension of my brain. Think Robocop, but instead of firing bullets with 100% accuracy, it’s enhanced content marketing creation and strategy skills.
Ultimately, I maintain the role as the primary writer and creator, where I do the important thinking, strategizing and wordsmithing. I use tools like ChatGPT as my “assistant” and which I train in my own time.
Some of these tasks might be:
- Transcribe an interview (with sensitive information redacted, like names and proprietary details)
- Summarize an article, video, or webpage
- Create an analysis framework to help identify gaps you may be missing to gain a competitive edge, and use that to inform content marketing strategy/creation
- Research a topic, find multiple angles, and search for reputable source
- Generate ideas for content topics or other creative concepts
- Review a draft (written by me) and recommend improvements
- Proofread for errors like grammar and typos
- Play the role of your target audience to see how persuasive or spot-on the copy is from their POV
I get that you may have sensitive or confidential information. I will make sure to speak with you ahead of time and not input any information into AI tools without your approval. We can of course chat about how I can adapt to whatever AI policy you prefer.
